Chiropactic care

Chiropractic care

Chiropractors specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, especially those of the spine, and their effects on the nervous system. Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in movement are found. On first meeting you, the chiropractor will take a detailed history of your health, your reasons for seeking a consultation and a full examination will then be undertaken.

Chiropractic care involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint, resulting in an audible ‘crack’ as the joint is released, bringing relief of symptoms. The crack is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released. This is known as an ‘adjustment.’ Generally, chiropractic treatment does not hurt although there may be some minor short-term discomfort, which quickly passes for most patients. This helps to get the body moving correctly which frees and releases nerves trapped, allowing the body to heal itself.

Acupunctreand dry needlig
Acupuncture and dry needling

Western medical acupuncture  involves inserting fine needles into specific points in the body stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body.

This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endomorphism. It's likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture.
